kimchi workshop with tex from fermentex

On top of kombucha, Tex loves making kimchi. The Fermentex kimchi is a vegan variation on the traditional Beachu kimchi. It is hand-made, spicy and non-pasteurized. All that good stuff!

Always wanted to make kimchi but are unsure where to start? Or are you in need of a fun gift for a friend? Then this is for you.

During this afternoon Tex will take us through;

14:00-14:15 INTRO: Welcome drink and a quick hello
14:15 (approx 15 mins) BASICS: The background and basics of kimchi
14:30 (approx 30 mins) PART 1: Preparing the veggies
15:00 (approx 30 mins) PART 2: Preparing the chili paste
15:30 (approx 30 mins) PART 3: Mixing kimchi (in groups)
We will aim to wrap up and close down around 16:30 (but the exact time will depend on the number of questions).

When: Sunday, December 29th, 14:00-16:30 at the Fermentary (Zonneplein 19)

Tickets: €38.50 per person*
*this includes a 500g “fermentation” jar, packed with your own kimchi which will continue to ferment at home,
plus an easy-to-use recipe for your future experiments.

Note: this is a hands-on, standing event (no chairs). Expect some mess and lots of fun.

Optional add-on:
The various types of kimchi that Fermentex makes will be available for you to buy after the workshop.

Terms & Conditions:

  • The workshop starts at 14:00. If you expect to arrive late then please let us know, and we will of course try to catch you up as well as possible, but since some participants might need to leave on time it wouldn't be fair to postpone the start time.

  • Can't make it for any reason? Your ticket can be changed or refunded if you cancel 10 days in advance. This timeline is set due to the required preparations and raw materials needed for the workshop.

  • If we do not reach the minimum required participants, then the workshop might need to be rescheduled.

  • We reserve the right to cancel the workshop at any time.

Kimchi is loaded with natural probiotics & healthy microorganisms, which are important for a healthy microbiome. When done right, it’s also super easy to make at home. Fun, simple and tasty for both you and your microbiota.

Interested? Buy your ticket now or send us an email at hello@fermentary.nl if you have any questions.
